Well we WOULD say it’s for a great cause but sadly the event (but not the veranda!) is cancelled by the organisers, Maitland Heritage Guardians, due to numbers, sometimes not easy to spread the word or get enough advanced ticket sales to have the resolve to press on.
About
The Verandah Project Bush Dance is a Fundraising initiative of The Maitland Heritage Guardians.
Early High Street Maitland was adorned in beautiful Iron Lace Verandahs. However, a majority of them were lost between 1915-1945; the iron either donated towards war efforts, or torn down when buses replaced horses and sulkies.
MHG has its sights set on revitalising Maitland’s iron lace verandahs and bringing back our towns romantic charm.
If you’d like to help make this vision a reality, please come and dance the night away at The Verandah Project Bush Dance.
All proceeds will support a verandah being restored to Sun Street Studio at, 246 High Street, Maitland.
Tickets include:
Entertainment: Rose Thistle and Shamrock Folk Band
Meal: Main meal by Full Throttle BBQ, Dessert & Soft Drink.
A bar will be open on the night, with additional drinks available at an additional cost.
Guests are encouraged to dress in themes assigned to each table. Prizes for the best outfits.

TIME: 6pm till 10.30pm
WHERE: At Maitland Showground in the McDonald Pavilion
ENTRY: Via the Evans Street Gate, Maitland.
BAND & MC: Rose Thistle & Shamrock
2 COURSE MEAL: Full Throttle BBQ Main and Dessert
BAR: Drinks & Beverages will be available on the night at additional cost.
TABLES: 10 seats per Theme Dressed Table.
